Precious Metals
Precious metals, such as gold, silver, platinum and palladium, are typically rarer than base metals and
have been appreciated for a very long time for their luster and non-tarnishing nature. Due to these
qualities, precious metals have been historically used as a currency. However, today, they are regarded
mainly as investments and industrial commodities. Precious metals such as gold and silver are extracted by using mechanical methods (i.e. gravitational) as
well as by chemical methods, such as froth flotation and carbon in pulp or carbon in leach circuits
(CIP/CIL). Whereas platinum and palladium are mainly extracted using froth flotation chemistry in North
America. Quadra Chemicals Ltd has been working with world class manufacturers of froth flotation chemistry and
leach circuit reagents for over 30 years. Quadra has access to high quality reagents which can be used
for the initial upgrading in the flotation circuit with chemical frothers and collectors, to sodium cyanide
and activated carbon for the actual leaching circuit. We also have sources for reagents required for the
destruction of residual cyanide on the back end of the leach circuit. With over 30 years of experience,
