HR & People Systems Specialist

We are currently seeking for an HR & People Systems Specialist responsible for finding efficiencies, maintaining our HR System, managing HR transactions, creating analytic reports and providing a high level of support to the HR Team. HR Aspect

  • Support various Employee Programs
  • Track and schedule probationary period with appropriate Managers
  • Ensure to comply with company policies and Legislation in various provinces
  • Drafting documents related to employee files or human resources (for example, letters of confirmation of employment)
  • Assist to interpret, advise and educate employees on various HR policies
  • Assist in the developing, updating and implementing all HR policies and procedures
  • Provide HR administrative support and perform special projects as assigned
  • Provide assistance where needed to coordinate scheduling interviews
  • Assist in preparing HR communications

HRIS – Dayforce

  • Responsible for the delivery of operational and technical support with day to day resolution and management of data within the Ceridian Dayforce human resource system
  • Assist managers and employees with effective use of Dayforce as a self-serve option
  • Responsible for end user set-up, maintenance and audits of role-based security
  • Performs ongoing system maintenance and ensure configurations are met (ex. testing, system releases, data feeds, troubleshooting)
  • Updates user access assigned roles and manage changes
  • Participates in the configuration and implementation of systems and modules
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of user guides/workflows and provides training to new users
  • Manage the integrity, accuracy, and maintenance of employee data in Dayforce
  • Support the HR Team with various Dayforce modules (WFN, Timesheets, etc)
  • Manage Time Off request of employees and ensure they are processed in timely manner
  • Support the HR team in entering transactions into the system on a regular basis and make adjustments as required, detecting and reconciling any discrepancies

Payroll aspect

  • Work closely with the Payroll Coordinator to ensure month-end and year-end processes including the preparation of documents or reports
  • Daily maintenance of employee files in Ceridian’s Dayforce payroll software
  • Ensure system reliability when payroll policies are modified
  • Maintenance of employee profiles as needed
  • Handling and revision of time sheets and administration of holiday banks
  • Prepare various payroll-related reports
  • Constructs back-end settings in Ceridian Dayforce to achieve desired outcomes and requirements changes
  • Generates workforce analytics including different monthly or quarterly reports: turnover, headcounts, recruitment, overtime, training and other HR KPIs
  • Serves as System Administrator


  • Post-secondary education or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Payroll or any other equivalent combination
  • 3-5 years’ experience in HR Generalist role/Payroll experience an asset but not required
  • Relevant experience in implementing or maintaining human capital management systems (HCM; such as Dayforce, Workday, Worforce Now)
  • Fluently bilingual, spoken and written (English & French) preferred but not required
  • Knowledgeable in HR programs, policies and practices
  • Must have a high level of professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Ability to manage priorities, be organized and have the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects within tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Strong problem solving and prioritizing skills
  • Exceptional customer service orientation, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and handle pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced skills with Excel
  • Some travel and overnight travel may be required
